The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

Almond Meal/Flour is simply skinless, blanched almonds that have been finely ground. It is gluten free, a good source of fiber, and contains 6 grams of carbohydrates per serving. Use it in place of regular flour for low carb baking, or try it as a breading for meats and vegetables. It lends a moist texture and rich, buttery flavor to cakes, cookies and a host of other desserts.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an ELISA Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free.

Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3 cups Bob's Red Mill Almond Meal/Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 Egg Whites
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup toasted Sliced Almonds
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Combine almond meal, baking soda and sea salt and set aside. Mix coconut oil and maple syrup in a mixer or by hand until creamy but not fully incorporated, about 5 minutes. Add whole egg, egg whites and vanilla extract; mix for 2 minutes more. Slowly add dry ingredients to egg mixture and mix for 1 minute. Add chocolate chips and toasted almonds and mix until well combined. Place large rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets, about 1 inch apart. Flatten slightly, to 1-inch thickness. Bake until set and golden, about 15 minutes.
Makes 25 cookies.

I made my own almond meal before I purchased the Bob's Red Mill almond flour. I honestly don't think it's worth my money to purchase this product any longer as I can make my own for a considerable amount less by buying bulk almonds, blanching them myself and grinding them myself. Not only that but the Bob's Almond Meal/Flour seems to have big chunks in it that you can definitely taste when cooking/baking with it. I made almond flour pancakes with homemade almond meal and the texture was right on, I made them with this purchased almond flour and I bit down quite a few times on chewy larger pieces of almonds.
The price on iherb for the product is pretty good. I compared it to the price at a whole foods store in the U.S. last year, and the price on iherb was more competitive. I listened to a podcast about the owner once, and he seems like a respectable, down-to-earth business owner. I like buying from a company where I can put a face to the name, not a big corporation. (I don't mind paying a little bit more for a quality product). I have used this flour to make gluten free wraps, hamburger buns, and even marzipan. (Yum)
