That powder completely suited me and suits me, but I healed my skin, got a little tan and decided to try Everyday Minerals Semi-matte Base Golden Ivory 1W. What I want to write about below (the photo can also be viewed in my LJ). Now I’ll quickly go through the shades, tones and subtones. I will explain all these strange names and incomprehensible ciphers in the name, consisting of numbers and letters. Everyday Minerals base mineral powders are divided into three large groups by skin type: Jojoba for dry, Semi-matte for combination and Matte for oily skin. * Jojoba base - moisturizing powder with jojoba oil, with a delicate satin glow, suitable for all skin types, especially for dry skin or flaky, dehydrated, aging skin or with a dull color. * Semi-matte base - powder with a light satin glow of beautiful and healthy skin, suitable for all types, especially for combination skin, ideal for everyday makeup. * Matte base - matting powder, perfectly matte and quite resistant, instantly and permanently removes an ugly shine on the face, suitable for all skin types, but especially for oily and combination skin, ideal for everyday makeup, as well as for photo and video sessions. Important. The base can slightly dry the skin and emphasize peeling or not mat, if it is not selected according to its skin type. Each base powder (base) has many shades by numbers from 0, which corresponds to the lightest, up to 7, corresponding to the darkest shade. In turn, each of the shades has a specific sub-tone: warm (warm sub-tone and the letter W in the name), cool (cold sub-tone and the letter C in the name) or neutral (neutral and the letter N in the name). In addition, some of the shades are combined in a group called olive, i.e. olive shade. To choose the right powder, you need to find out your skin type and determine the shade and tone. If it is not difficult to determine the type of skin, then tone and shade can cause problems. There are a couple of primitive, but fairly reliable ways to determine the undertones of your skin. The first way: we stand near the window in daylight, look at the veins (it is most convenient to look at the wrist) and if the veins are blue, then this is a cold skin tint, if green - warm, if both green and blue, then this is a natural tint. Another way: to a clean face without makeup in natural light we bring a clean white sheet and note the shade that will be noticeable on this background. If yellow or olive, the subtona is warm, if pink or bluish is cold, and if there is no definite one, then this is a neutral subtona. For reference: most people have a warm skin tone. After we learn the skin tone, you need to determine the shade. Here you need to carefully consider your neck and palette of shades, choose with an emphasis on the shade of the skin of the neck, because there may be a blush on the face or some other color heterogeneity. The lightest, zero shade is suitable for the so-called “snow white”, the rest will be whitened and look somewhat alien, despite the fact that all shades of EDM powder are well shaded and merge with the skin color.
