In my household we've done a lot of research on dates and consider them to be nature's multivitamin, so they are part of our daily diet. We live in the SW desert region and are fortunate enough to have fresh date orchards in our vicinity, so optimal comparisons are available. These Mariani dates were conveniently pitted, and they were soft and fresh without crystallization. It did not specify which type of date was going to be in the bags, the illustration on the front of the bag resembles a deglet noor but the image of the back with dates showing through a clear window made them look like they might be medjools. Mine were deglet noor. I bought multiple bags and the quality and date type was consistent throughout.
