I started taking hydrolyzed collagen in February 2025. My friend bought me a bag from Trader Joe’s and when that was finished I found a container of the Sports Research Hydrolyzed collagen at Homegoods and gave it a shot. I really didn’t notice anything but I figured it takes time. I decided to try the capsules because it thought it would be convenient and easy. Well I’m very forgetful and you take them three times a time so most days I can take all three if I’m lucky but a lot of times I end up only taking two a day. With that being said I have recently started noticing my nails growing very long and not breaking or becoming brittle on the edges. I have never had strong nails and have even let them stay long for several weeks to see if they will naturally break, tear or catch on anything. So far minimal need for cleaning up the edges. My goals for taking the collagen were to have stronger, healthier hair and skin. I would say it’s a positive sign to see it working on the nails first.
